The wheat market saw gains on Tuesday, with Chicago SRW futures rising 5 to 6 cents, Kansas City HRW futures increasing 16 to 17 cents, and MPLS spring wheat up 10 to 11 cents.
As of Sunday, winter wheat was reported at 11% headed, surpassing the 5-year average of 7%. However, condition ratings fell to 34% good/excellent, down 1 point, with Kansas experiencing a significant 20-point drop on the Brugler500 index. Additionally, spring wheat planting is currently at 6%, trailing the 7% average pace.
For the coming week, the NOAA forecasts dry conditions from western Kansas to the Texas panhandle, with SRW areas expected to receive 1 to 3 inches of rain.
