On Thursday, October 19, 2023, the wheat complex showed significant price increases, with CBT soft red wheat futures rising by 7 to 8 cents and KC HRW futures up by 10 to 11 cents. MPLS spring wheat futures also saw gains of 6 to 8 cents.
Due to a continued government shutdown, the USDA did not release its weekly Export Sales report. Traders forecasted sales between 350,000 and 650,000 metric tons of wheat for the week ending October 16. The International Grains Council projected the 2025/26 world wheat production to be 827 million metric tons, up by 8 million metric tons.
