Wheat Sees Positive Closing Gains on Monday

On December 18, the wheat market saw significant gains, with Chicago SRW futures up by 5 to 6 cents and KC HRW futures increasing by 6 to 7 cents. The Export Inspections report revealed that wheat shipments reached 627,443 metric tons (23.05 million bushels), marking a 28.2% increase from the previous week and a 46.79% rise compared to the same week last year.

Mexico was the top importer, receiving 98,816 MT, followed by Japan (73,777 MT), Thailand (69,201 MT), and China (68,559 MT). Year-to-date wheat shipments have totaled 14.75 million metric tons (542.1 million bushels), reflecting a 22.89% increase year-over-year. Additionally, Algeria has issued a tender for 50,000 metric tons of durum wheat.
