Wheat futures are set to open hard at 8:30 AM CST today, following a strong Wednesday session where Chicago SRW futures increased by 4 to 6 cents. Kansas City HRW futures saw gains of 5 to 6 cents, while MPLS spring wheat was steady to a penny higher. Notably, open interest decreased by 3,571 contracts.
As of December 11, wheat export commitments reached 19.855 million metric tons (MMT), marking a 22% increase compared to last year and representing 81% of the USDA’s full marketing year projection. March 2026 CBOT Wheat closed at $5.21 3/4, up 4 3/4 cents, while May 2026 CBOT Wheat closed at $5.32 1/4, up 5 cents.
