Super Bowl LIX Highlights AI’s Role in Tech Advertising
Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles are likely rejoicing after their team’s victory in Super Bowl LIX. On the other hand, Kansas City Chiefs supporters might be feeling a bit down. Yet, regardless of team loyalties, viewers collectively noted the significant focus on AI within the big tech commercials aired during the event.
Tech Giants Go Big on AI in Super Bowl Ads
- Meta Platforms Inc. (META) showcased its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in an ad featuring Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and Kris Jenner. These smart glasses integrate Meta AI, allowing users to converse with their eyewear for assistance and recommendations.
- OpenAI made its Super Bowl entrance with a commercial emphasizing key historical milestones, from the wheel to ChatGPT, its renowned AI chatbot.
- Alphabet Inc. (GOOG) rolled out two ads for Gemini, its AI assistant, demonstrating how it can aid in job interview preparation and deepen knowledge about football.
These commercials marked a strategic time for Google, coinciding with the recent launch of Gemini 2.0, its most advanced AI model suite, just a week prior. This innovation falls under what Google describes as the “agentic era” of AI.
Understanding Agentic AI
You may be curious about what “agentic” AI entails. Let’s break it down. Generative AI focuses on creation; it generates content such as text, images, and videos. These systems utilize pattern recognition to produce new outputs based on extensive data.
Examples of generative AI include OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Bard, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. On the other hand, agentic AI centers on problem-solving. Instead of merely creating content, it makes decisions and adapts to different scenarios, similar to a smart assistant or robotic system. Equipped with tools like sensors and algorithms, these models can analyze their surroundings and take appropriate actions.
Gemini 2.0 excels by tackling problems in smaller, more manageable parts, enhancing its ability to offer thoughtful solutions. Google CEO Sundar Pichai emphasized this in a December blog post, highlighting their ongoing investment in developing more advanced agentic models.
However, agentic AI is distinct from artificial general intelligence (AGI). AGI represents a future where AI achieves human-like cognitive abilities. While we are not there yet, agentic AI is a crucial stepping stone toward that goal.
The countdown to AGI, which I initiated on September 12, 2024, marks a critical period in AI development, coinciding with the release of AI models that can reason rather than just recognize patterns. My benchmark suggests that 1,000 days is the maximum time frame before AGI could become a reality.
Investment Implications and Opportunities
Understanding these advancements is vital for investors. The emergence of AGI holds massive potential for those who are prepared, while unprepared investors could miss the chance to benefit from what may become one of the largest financial movements in history, surpassing even the Internet Revolution.
I have pinpointed several companies positioned to take advantage of this upcoming shift during the current pre-AGI phase, and am eager to share this information with you.

Market Turmoil Could Spark Crypto Resurgence
Cryptocurrency has historically flourished in times of geopolitical unrest, and the current market chaos mirrors previous conditions that triggered substantial crypto rallies. My colleague Luke Lango elaborates on how to prepare as a crypto investor during these tumultuous times.
AI’s Impact on American Jobs Despite Tariffs
AI doesn’t rely on physical factories or foreign labor, needing only computing power. Consequently, millions of jobs may vanish in the next decade regardless of any tariff impacts. Thomas Yeung reveals how to brace for this changing employment landscape.

DeepSeek’s Role in the AI Expansion
There’s a significant rivalry brewing in tech: DeepSeek vs. OpenAI. My colleague Louis Navellier has dubbed it the AI Proliferation Boom and outlines how to identify companies embracing this emerging trend to profit accordingly.
Future Prospects in AI Development
I have followed the evolution of AGI closely for years. Louis Navellier also forecasts that AI is on the brink of a transformative phase.
Recent developments show promise. For instance, China’s DeepSeek has posed a challenge to Nvidia Corp (NVDA), while Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (BABA) claims to have an even more advanced platform than DeepSeek.
In response to these challenges, President Trump has not only eased restrictions on AI expansion but also introduced Stargate, a $500 billion initiative aimed at bolstering America’s AI infrastructure to ensure its competitiveness in this technological race.
Achieving this infrastructure is vital as we pursue what Louis refers to as the “crossover moment,” a pivotal step toward AGI.
Later this week, Louis will provide insights on AI and offer information about seven promising AI companies that could yield returns of 2X, 5X, or even 10X.
Stay tuned for more updates.

Eric Fry
