Ford Motor Company is expanding access to electric vehicle (EV) charging by opening over 320 of its dealerships’ DC fast chargers to all EV drivers, regardless of vehicle make. This initiative, called Ford Charge, includes nearly 1,200 fast chargers across the U.S. and Canada, as part of the BlueOval Charge Network, which boasts more than 200,000 public chargers overall.
Ford’s BlueOval network provides fast-charging options typically within 18 miles on major U.S. highways. Currently, over 800 Ford dealerships offer public access to more than 3,000 DC fast chargers. The Ford Charge program also includes 24/7 live customer service for all EV drivers.
In comparison, General Motors plans to partner with ChargePoint to deploy hundreds of ultra-fast charging ports by the end of 2025, while Rivian is expanding its charging network to non-Rivian EVs, with over 75% of its network set to support universal charging by August 2025.
