Winter Wheat Contracts Surge with Double-Digit Increases

The wheat complex saw mostly higher prices on Thursday, with Chicago SRW wheat increasing by 7 to 9 cents. KC HRW contracts rose by 8 to 11 cents, while MPLS spring wheat displayed mixed results, with September contracts down 1 ¼ cents. Trade closed with July 25 CBOT Wheat at $5.50 1/4, up 7 1/2 cents, and September 25 CBOT Wheat at $5.54 1/2, also up 7 1/2 cents.

The USDA reported 567,823 metric tons in 2025/26 wheat export sales, which fell 3.1% from the prior week but was over double the sales from the same week last year. South Korea was the largest buyer at 90,000 metric tons, followed by Japan with 70,000 metric tons and Mexico at 55,900 metric tons. Additionally, world wheat stock for the end of 2025/26 is projected at 262.5 million metric tons, slightly down from the previous month’s estimate of 262.8 million metric tons.
