Options Trading Sees Surge in Sweetgreen, Teekay Tankers, and Zoetis

High volume options trading highlights investor interest in major companies.

Among the components of the Russell 3000 index, today’s trading activity revealed significant options trading volume for Sweetgreen Inc (Symbol: SG). A total of 14,718 contracts have exchanged hands today, which correlates to around 1.5 million underlying shares—representing about 55.1% of SG’s average daily trading volume over the past month, approximately 2.7 million shares. Notably, the $38 strike call option set to expire on November 15, 2024, recorded high activity, with 5,144 contracts trading, equating to about 514,400 underlying shares. The $175 strike put option expiring on November 15, 2024, was particularly active, with 2,616 contracts exchanged, equating to approximately 261,600 underlying shares.
