Soybeans Rise as Production Estimates Drop

Soybean prices increased on Monday morning, gaining between 5 to 9 cents. USDA Cuts Soybean Production Estimates

The USDA’s Crop Production report released on Friday revealed a major revision in the US soybean crop projection. The yield was reduced by 1.4 bushels per acre to 51.7 bushels, leading to a total production estimate of 4.461 billion bushels—a decrease of 121 million bushels from October. This sharp decline also impacted the US ending stocks, which were cut by 80 million bushels to 470 million bushels. Demand adjustments showed a 15 million bushel reduction in crush, now at 2.41 billion bushels, and a 25 million bushel decrease in exports, now at 1.825 billion bushels. However, production figures from South America remained unchanged, with world ending stocks reduced by 2.91 million metric tons to 131.74 million metric tons primarily due to the US projections.
