Cotton Futures Hold Steady Amid Mixed Market Influences
On Thursday, cotton futures showed stability, rising as much as 4 points. Mixed signals from outside markets include a decline in the US dollar index by 38 points, while crude oil prices increased by $0.19 per barrel.
Online Sales and Stock Updates
The Seam reported 441 bales sold online on December 24, with an average price of 58.80 cents per pound. Additionally, ICE cotton stocks remained steady as of Tuesday, holding at 20,113 bales of certified stocks. The Cotlook A Index increased by 130 points on December 24, reaching 79.60 cents per pound. Meanwhile, the USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) saw another reduction of 113 points last week, now standing at 55.09 cents per pound, with an update expected later today.
