Cotton Futures Experience Decline Amid Mixed Market Conditions

Cotton futures are showing losses between 62 and 76 points on Wednesday. The wider financial landscape displays mixed results, with crude oil futures decreasing by $1.58 per barrel, while the US dollar index declines by 0.478.

December Cotton Exports Reported

According to Census data, December cotton exports stood at 843,230 bales. This figure represents a decrease of 23.91% compared to the previous year, yet it marks an increase of 28.02% from November.

Online Sales and Stock Levels

The Seam reported 8,781 bales of online sales on February 4, with an average price of 59.39 cents per pound. Meanwhile, the ICE cotton stocks remained unchanged at 218 bales of certified stocks on Tuesday. The Cotlook A Index rose by 25 points on February 4, reaching 77.05 cents per pound. Additionally, the USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) increased by 31 points last week to 54.02 cents per pound, with updates expected Thursday afternoon.

Mar 25 Cotton is currently priced at 66.18, reflecting a drop of 76 points.

May 25 Cotton is at 67.35, down 70 points.

Jul 25 Cotton is trading at 68.48, down 62 points.
