Nvidia Resumes Chip Production for Chinese Market

Nvidia has restarted production of its H200 AI chips for customers in China after nearly a year-long pause due to regulatory issues. This announcement was made by CEO Jensen Huang during the GPU Technology Conference (GTC) on Monday. The company stated it has received purchase orders from multiple customers and is ramping up its supply chain to meet demand.

In 2024, Nvidia generated revenue between $12 billion and $15 billion from China, with estimates suggesting the market opportunity could reach over $50 billion. Additionally, Nvidia is preparing a revised version of its Groq AI inference accelerator specifically for Chinese customers. Analysts predict Nvidia’s total revenue for the next year could be as high as $368 billion, with any sales to China likely to push this forecast even higher.
