Tesla Launches Robotaxi Service in Miami
Tesla’s Robotaxi service commenced operations in Miami on Friday, marking its first expansion outside Texas and California. The service is currently limited to a geofenced area in western Miami-Dade County, excluding downtown and Miami Beach. Tesla’s roadmap indicates future expansions to Orlando, Tampa, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.
Following the announcement, Tesla shares rose nearly 7% on Monday, despite a previous drop of 7.5% after reporting 480,126 deliveries for Q2, a 25% year-over-year increase. The rollout demonstrates progress, but the Robotaxi operation remains modest, with few vehicles active and limited service areas. Tesla is set to report its earnings on July 22, where more details on the Robotaxi program could be revealed.
