Soybean futures were down 10 to 15¼ cents on Friday morning, with the cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price at $11.31, down 14½ cents. Open interest increased by 8,425 contracts, indicating new selling pressure. Soymeal futures saw increases ranging from $3.70 to $5.10, while Soy Oil futures were down 90 to 120 points.
The USDA reported a private export sale of 136,000 MT of 2026/27 soybeans to China, along with an additional 120,000 MT destined for unknown locations. Export Sales for the week of July 2 tallied 54,349 MT for 2025/26 soybeans, with China purchasing 202,100 MT. The week also saw 408,250 MT of soybean sales for 2026/27, primarily to unknown destinations (338,000 MT) and 54,000 MT to Colombia.
The WASDE report will be updated today, with a Bloomberg survey indicating a decrease in old crop bean stocks to 337 million bushels (mbu) and an increase of 22 mbu for new crop stocks due to higher production from increased acreage.
