**Coffee Prices Decline Amid Inventory Pressures and Harvest Outlook**
On Wednesday, September arabica coffee (KCU26) closed down 1.69% at a price decrease of $5.45, while September ICE robusta coffee (RMU26) fell 0.58%, losing $22. The drop in coffee prices follows expectations of dry conditions in Brazil’s coffee-growing regions, which may accelerate the ongoing coffee harvest. Additionally, ICE robusta inventories reached a four-month high, compounding the downward pressure on prices.
As of July 15, Brazil’s coffee harvest for the 2026/27 season is 64% complete, lagging behind last year’s 77% and the five-year average of 70%. This slow progress, combined with strong green coffee exports that rose 14.4% year-on-year to 2.64 million bags in June, keeps market dynamics volatile. Concerns surrounding the El Niño weather pattern, which the U.S. Climate Prediction Center suggests could significantly impact Brazil’s coffee crop later this year, further add to market uncertainty.
