EMCOR Group (NYSE:EME) reported record second-quarter revenue of $5.15 billion, a 19.8% increase year over year, along with a nearly 32% rise in operating income to $547.3 million. The company’s diluted earnings per share increased by 35%, reaching $9.06 compared to $6.72 in the same quarter last year. Driven by strong demand across various sectors such as data centers and institutional projects, EMCOR also raised its full-year 2026 revenue outlook to between $20 billion and $20.5 billion.
The company’s electrical construction revenue surged by 24% to $1.66 billion, bolstered by a 45% growth in network and communications revenue. Mechanical construction revenue exceeded $2.3 billion, marking a more than 31% increase, with substantial contributions from the data center and institutional markets. EMCOR’s remaining performance obligations reached a record $17.14 billion, reflecting a 44% increase from the previous year.
Management indicated that five acquisitions in the electrical construction sector, collectively generating $625 million in revenue, are expected to further enhance EMCOR’s market position. The total upfront purchase price for these acquisitions is set at $750 million, with expected contributions to revenue between $250 million and $275 million in the latter half of 2026.
