Nvidia’s Expansion in AI Market
Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, is advocating for open-weight artificial intelligence (AI) models, which allow companies, researchers, and countries to customize and deploy their own AI systems. This shift is expected to expand Nvidia’s total addressable market, as the demand for computing power to run these AI models increasingly relies on Nvidia’s chips. Approximately 25% of AI tokens generated today are from open models, and Huang aims to grow that share.
By releasing its Nemotron family of open models to the public, Nvidia not only fosters demand but also positions itself at the forefront of AI development among competitors, including those in China. This strategy enhances Nvidia’s market share while stimulating competition and innovation within the AI ecosystem.
