Cotton futures remained stable on Thursday, with nearby contracts fluctuating between a decline of 5 points to an increase of 5 points. Key export sales data revealed a net cancellation of 55,855 bales for the 2025/26 marketing year during the week ending July 30, marking a record low for the season, while new crop business recorded 242,052 bales—the third largest volume of the marketing year. Total shipments for the week stood at 222,830 bales.
In related reports, The Seam noted the sale of 2,277 bales on August 5 at an average price of 80.64 cents. The Cotlook A Index decreased by 70 points to 93.00 cents, while ICE certified cotton stocks remained steady at 84,632 bales. The Adjusted World Price rose by 84 points last week to 64.66 cents per pound, with an update expected later today. As for specific cotton contracts, October 26 cotton is at 81.79 cents, down 5 points; December 26 cotton is at 83.05 cents, up 3 points; and March 27 cotton is at 84.74 cents, also up 3 points.
