**Cotton Futures Market Update**

Cotton futures experienced losses on Friday, with declines ranging from 19 to 114 points. Despite this, December futures recorded a weekly gain of 303 points. The Commitment of Traders data indicated that managed money increased its net long position in cotton futures and options by 17,173 contracts, bringing the total to 95,841 contracts as of August 25.

In export sales, the 2026/27 cotton export commitment level reached 4.332 million running bales (RB), reflecting a 27% increase compared to the previous year and accounting for 38% of the USDA’s export projection. Notably, the Seam reported sales of 2,212 bales on Thursday at an average price of 87.19 cents per pound. As of August 27, ICE certified cotton stocks remained stable at 66,327 bales, while the Adjusted World Price was raised to 71.52 cents per pound.
