S&P 500 Q3 Earnings Forecast: Anticipated Surge in Earnings and Revenue Growth

Corporate earnings for Q2 are showing exceptional momentum, indicating broad-based growth across multiple sectors. As reported, S&P 500 earnings are expected to rise by 23.0% in Q3 2026 compared to the same period last year, accompanied by an 11.1% increase in revenues. Notably, 14 out of 16 Zacks sectors are projected to experience positive earnings growth, with six sectors achieving double-digit increases.

Currently, the Q2 earnings reporting cycle is concluding, with a few companies still pending results. Only the Conglomerates (-35.4%) and Consumer Staples (-0.1%) sectors are anticipated to decline in Q3 earnings. Major contributors to the tech sector’s growth include Alphabet, Micron, and Nvidia, whereas, excluding these companies, the sector would see a lower increase of 18.7% in earnings.
