Constellation Energy, the largest nuclear power operator in the U.S., has 55 gigawatts (GW) of total power generation capacity, with 22 GW generated from nuclear sources. The company has secured long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Microsoft and Meta Platforms, enhancing its revenue stability. In the second quarter, Constellation’s nuclear fleet achieved a remarkable 93% capacity factor.
Vistra follows as the second-largest energy producer with 44 GW of total capacity, including 6.6 GW from nuclear energy. Vistra has also entered into significant agreements, including a 20-year PPA with Amazon Web Services in September 2025, while maintaining solid capacity factors of 92.9% in ERCOT and 91% in PJM.
Talen Energy, with 15.7 GW of total capacity and 2.2 GW from nuclear energy, is primarily partnered with Amazon. In March 2024, Talen sold part of its infrastructure to AWS for $650 million, followed by a PPA to deliver up to 1,920 MW of nuclear power through 2042. These developments highlight a growing demand for reliable power amidst increasing energy needs from hyperscale data centers, with U.S. policymakers aiming to quadruple nuclear capacity by 2050.
