AMD Achieves $1 Trillion Market Cap
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) has reached a significant milestone, surpassing a market capitalization of $1 trillion for the first time, fueled by a remarkable 190% increase in its stock value in 2026. In contrast, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), while maintaining a larger market cap of approximately $5.5 trillion, has only risen by 23% this year.
AMD’s strong performance is bolstered by the recent launch of its Helios rack-scale AI system and a substantial revenue report of $11.5 billion for the quarter ending June 27, marking a 50% year-on-year increase. However, projections for the following quarter suggest a slower growth rate of around 41%. Analysts note that, despite the excitement surrounding AMD, its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of around 40 is significantly higher than Nvidia’s P/E of 25, raising questions about AMD’s long-term valuation versus its more established competitor.
