Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (DLB) is expanding its technology offerings within Meta Platforms, Inc. (META)’s ecosystem, with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision now available across new devices including Meta’s AI glasses and virtual reality devices. This was announced at the recent Meta Connect event, enhancing user experiences on platforms like Instagram and expanding Dolby’s influence in entertainment and content creation.
Meta’s AI glasses will be the first global consumer device to capture audio in Dolby Atmos, allowing users to record immersive audio to share on social media. Additionally, Meta is set to launch a new VR device next year that will support both Dolby technologies, aiming to enhance the quality of premium virtual reality content.
Dolby anticipates a 15% year-over-year revenue increase in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision technologies by fiscal 2026, fueled by broader market adoption. In the last year, Dolby’s share price has decreased by 16.9%, while it currently trades at a Price/Sales ratio of 3.74, significantly higher than the industry average of 1.66.
