TotalEnergies’ (NYSE:TTE) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery was forced to shut operations Wednesday, two days after finally restarting following an emergency shutdown on January 16 due to a plant-wide power outage during a winter storm, Bloomberg reported.
The 238K bbl/day refinery, TotalEnergies’ (TTE) only U.S. refinery, shut down after problems cropped up at the 165K bbl/day crude distillation unit and the 55K bbl/day vacuum distillation unit, according to the report.
Increased activity reportedly continued at the refinery’s 66K bbl/day diesel hydrotreater, 39K bbl/day catalytic reformer and 80K bbl/day fluid catalytic cracker.
The TotalEnergies (TTE) refinery was one of several on the Texas coast that malfunctioned in last month’s cold blast.
