Avangrid (NYSE:AGR) announced Friday it has entered into a new power purchase agreement with Amazon to extract renewable energy from a forthcoming wind farm in Oregon, with undisclosed financial specifics.
Avangrid (AGR) disclosed plans to construct the wind farm in Gilliam County, Oregon, in support of Amazon’s objective to rely solely on renewable energy to fuel its activities by 2025.
The wind farm is expected to amass a capacity of 98.4 MW, generating adequate energy to power 22,800 homes annually, as stated by Avangrid (AGR).
Avangrid (AGR), a subsidiary of the Spanish electricity firm Iberdrola (OTCPK:IBDRY) (OTCPK:IBDSF), oversees eight electric and natural gas utilities and a suite of renewable energy production facilities within the United States.
