AMD Raises $4.75 Billion in Largest Bond Offering
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) has successfully priced $4.75 billion in senior notes, marking its largest bond offering to date. The notes, divided into four tranches maturing between 2029 and 2036, will cost the company approximately $240 million annually in interest. This offering significantly surpasses AMD’s previous bond sales, including $1.5 billion in March 2025.
As of the end of Q2, AMD reported $13.1 billion in cash and short-term investments and generated $2.4 billion in operating cash flow for the quarter. The company’s revenue surged 50% year over year to $11.5 billion, with data center revenue more than doubling to $6.7 billion.
CEO Lisa Su highlighted that the proceeds from the bond offering will be used for general corporate purposes, potentially including debt repayment. AMD’s total debt will rise from approximately $3.2 billion to $8 billion, positioning the firm to support ongoing capital expenditures and growth initiatives.
