Broadcom achieved significant growth in its AVGO Semiconductor business, reporting a 106% increase in AI revenues year-over-year for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, reaching $10.7 billion. AI networking revenues rose by 60% and are projected to constitute 40% of total AI revenues in the second quarter. The company anticipates total revenues of $22 billion for the upcoming quarter, reflecting a 47% year-over-year increase.
The Tomahawk 6 switch series, which is now in production, has doubled the throughput of its predecessor and is optimized for large-scale AI networks. Additionally, Broadcom has extended its partnership with Meta Platforms to co-develop custom AI chips, intending to deploy over 1 gigawatt of computing capacity, potentially increasing to multiple gigawatts in the future.
Despite strong performance, Broadcom faces robust competition from NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices, both of which are benefitting from heightened demand in AI and high-performance computing markets. Broadcom shares have seen a 15.5% increase year-to-date, outperforming the broader technology sector.
