BridgeBio (NASDAQ:BBIO) has sealed an exclusive licensing pact with Kyowa Kirin for the development and commercialization rights to its dwarfism drug infigratinib in Japan. In a substantial upfront payment, Kyowa Kirin will pay BridgeBio $100 million, along with royalties reaching a high-20s percentage on product sales in Japan, and potential milestone payments. Kyowa Kirin is set to advance the product’s development for the treatment of achondroplasia, hypochondroplasia, and other skeletal dysplasias.
BridgeBio is presently executing a Phase 3 global study of the drug in treating achondroplasia outside of Japan, marking a significant step with the first pediatric patient dosed in December. Meanwhile, Kyowa Kirin aims to kick off a Japanese registrational clinical trial by 2025.
