Canadian National Railway (CNI) achieved a record grain movement of 2.50 million metric tons (MMT) in August 2026, surpassing the previous August record of 2.34 MMT set in 2020. This milestone reflects strong demand and effective network operations as the company transitions into the new crop year.

The record grain movement indicates a strong start to the 2026–2027 crop year amid the advancing harvest season in Western Canada. Efficient coordination with supply chain partners and enhanced service reliability contributed to this achievement, positioning CNI to effectively handle the upcoming harvest with planned resources and capacity.

CNI’s stock has increased by 14.3% in the past six months, slightly outperforming the Transportation – Rail industry growth of 14.2%.
