Cerebras Systems Inc. (CBRS) has launched its fourth-generation CS-4 AI system, capable of delivering inference speeds exceeding 4,400 tokens per second per user. This new system boasts 750 PFLOPS of AI compute and 7.2 Tbps of I/O, positioning CBRS as a strong competitor in the AI inference market against giants like NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
In the second quarter of 2026, Cerebras reported a 287% year-over-year increase in core cloud services revenues, totaling $127.7 million, while overall core revenues rose 103% to $209.9 million. The company currently has $25.4 billion in Remaining Performance Obligations (RPOs) and anticipates expanding its manufacturing capacity more than tenfold in 2026, capitalizing on strong demand in the AI sector.
Cerebras faces competition from NVIDIA, which reported $75.2 billion in data center revenues, and AMD, whose Helios platform aims to increase throughput by up to 15%. Despite an 18.4% decline in CBRS shares over the past three months, analyst estimates show a potential upside of 37.62%, with losses expected to improve from 32 cents to 13 cents per share by the next quarter.
