On Friday, July ICE NY cocoa (CCN26) closed down 4.29%, settling at 176 points lower, while July ICE London cocoa #7 (CAN26) fell by 3.63%, down 112 points. Cocoa prices reached a 3.5-week low, affected by rising supplies, with ICE cocoa inventories hitting a 1.75-year high of 2,846,957 bags.
The Ivory Coast reported an increased cocoa delivery estimate of 2.2 million metric tons (MMT) for the 2025/26 season, up from 1.8-1.9 MMT, as favorable weather boosts production. Cumulative data indicated that farmers shipped 1.64 MMT of cocoa to ports in the 2025/26 marketing year, marking a 2.5% increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, cocoa export figures from Nigeria fell 20% year-on-year in April, with anticipated production declines adding further complexities to the market.
