**Coffee Prices Decline Amid Colombian Earthquake and Export Disruptions**
On September 6, arabica coffee prices fell by 1.82% to $336.20, while robusta coffee prices dropped by 2.55% to $3,686.96. This decline follows a 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia on September 4, disrupting exports from the country’s coffee-growing provinces, which produce about 25% of its coffee.
Despite the disruption, Colombia has partially resumed coffee exports through the Buenaventura port, with ongoing limitations in traffic. Arabica coffee inventories on ICE reached a 2.75-year low of 240,285 bags, while robusta inventories increased to a 5-month high of 4,364 lots. The USDA also forecasts a global coffee output increase of 6.0% for the 2026-27 season, predicting record production primarily due to improved conditions in Brazil.
