Micron Outpaces Nvidia in AI Investment Growth

Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) has surged approximately 250% in 2026, compared to Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), which saw an increase of only 12% during the same period. This significant disparity has led to questions about which company represents a better investment in the ongoing artificial intelligence (AI) arms race.

Micron’s growth is driven by soaring memory chip prices due to low supply and high demand. Its revenue growth reached 346% in its most recent quarter, with expectations for 349% in the next quarter. In contrast, Nvidia reported an 85% year-over-year growth, with forecasts of nearly 100% next quarter. Wall Street projects an additional 84% growth for Micron by fiscal year 2027, compared to only 42% for Nvidia.

While Micron has witnessed exceptional short-term growth, Nvidia remains a more stable long-term investment due to its strong market position in AI computing and ability to maintain premium pricing on its products. Investors will need to weigh the rapid gains of Micron against the steadiness of Nvidia in their decision-making process.
