Corn futures declined slightly, closing down 5 ¾ cents at $4.36 ¾ per bushel on Wednesday. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price also fell by 5 ½ cents, settling at $4.07. A USDA report revealed a private export sale of 120,000 metric tons (MT) of corn to Mexico, comprising 30,000 MT for the 2026/27 season and 90,000 MT for 2027/28.
Upcoming USDA export sales data, set to release on Thursday, is anticipated to show old crop corn sales between 200,000 and 600,000 MT for the week ending July 30, with new crop sales projected at 0.7 to 1.2 million MT. Meanwhile, ethanol production measured 1.107 million barrels per day for the week of July 31, down 26,000 bpd from the previous week, and exports increased to 200,000 bpd, an increase of 63,000 bpd.
