**Cotton Futures Decline Amid Mixed Export Sales Data**
Cotton futures experienced significant declines on Thursday, with contracts for July down 199 points to $74.74, December down 196 points to $78.55, and March down 187 points to $79.85. Concurrently, the US dollar index fell by $0.160 to $99.345, and crude oil prices dropped by $3.73 to $92.29.
The USDA’s Export Sales report indicated 185,268 running bales (RB) of cotton sold for the 2025/26 season during the week of May 28, marking a seven-week high. However, new crop sales were lower at 77,145 RB, a three-week low, and total shipments reached 268,799 RB, the lowest in 14 weeks. Additionally, as of June 3, The Seam reported cotton sales of 3,194 bales at an average price of 73.38 cents per pound.
