Cotton futures are experiencing a decline, with contracts falling between 100 to 111 points as of midday Friday. In related markets, crude oil has increased by 4 cents per barrel, while the US dollar index has risen by $0.533.
As of now, the 2026/27 cotton export commitment level stands at 4.332 million running bales (RB), marking a 27% increase compared to last year and representing 38% of the USDA’s export projection. However, this figure is trailing the 5-year average. On August 27, the Cotlook A Index increased by 70 points to 98.30 cents, while ICE certified cotton stocks remained steady at 66,327 bales.
