Cotton futures slipped 14 to 16 points across front months on Tuesday, with March cotton at 62.51 cents/lb, May at 64.26 cents/lb, and July at 65.95 cents/lb. The U.S. dollar index decreased by 0.222 to 97.270.
In related commodity news, crude oil futures fell $0.94 per barrel to $63.08. Monday’s online auction from The Seam reported sales at 56.99 cents/lb for 8,955 bales. The Cotlook A Index dropped 15 points to 73.80 cents, and ICE certified cotton stocks increased by 2 bales, totaling 34,228 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated to 50.23 cents/lb last week.
