Cotton prices increased by 83 to 104 points on Wednesday morning, following a Tuesday session where futures dropped 11 to 61 points. The US dollar index fell by $0.278, reaching $97.885. Meanwhile, crude oil prices declined by $7.01 amid potential U.S.-Iran talks, though no formal discussions have been scheduled.
On April 13, 3,172 bales of cotton were sold at an average price of 72.95 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index rose by 10 points on April 10, reaching 84.35 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks saw an increase of 15,301 bales, now totaling 159,512 bales, while the Adjusted World Price rose by 175 points last week to 58.74 cents per pound.
As of today, May 26 Cotton closed at 74.34 (down 19 points), July 26 Cotton closed at 76.52 (down 11 points), and December 26 Cotton closed at 77.2 (down 61 points).
