Cotton futures experienced an uptick on Monday, with contracts rising between 21 to 54 points. As of August 21, the Weekly Crop Progress report indicated that 81% of U.S. cotton had set bolls, while 20% had bolls opening. However, condition ratings fell slightly to 37% classified as good/excellent, a decline of 1 percentage point from the previous week.
The Cotlook A Index dropped by 70 points on Friday, settling at 98.20 cents. Additionally, ICE certified cotton stocks decreased by 1,749 bales to a total of 68,894 bales. The Adjusted World Price increased by 143 points to reach 69.62 cents per pound. Notably, October 26 Cotton closed at 87.48 cents, December 26 Cotton at 88.83 cents, and March 27 Cotton at 90.69 cents.
