Key Facts on Tesla’s Recent Developments

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) is anticipating a pivotal vote from the European Union (E.U.) on its full self-driving (FSD) software, which could occur before October 6, according to Reuters. The E.U. Technical Committee on Motor Vehicles (TCMV) must secure a qualified majority vote, requiring at least 55% of member states representing 65% of the E.U. population to approve the software. Currently, seven countries, accounting for approximately 11.8% of the population, support FSD under national exemptions.

In another significant development, Tesla recently received an order for 2,500 Semi trucks from the Zero Emission Truck Shipper Carrier Alliance Leading Electrification (ZET SCALE), a coalition that includes companies like Microsoft and PepsiCo. This order could yield up to $540 million in revenue, based on potential FSD earnings of $18,000 per month per Semi truck.

Additionally, data from Tesla’s Cybercab initiative has shown promising results, with four reported incidents involving its robotaxi services in July and August, showcasing overall strong safety performance amid efforts to gain regulatory approval for broader rollout.
