Microsoft’s Fiscal Q4 Performance Boosts Stock

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) reported a strong fiscal Q4 for 2026, leading to a recovery in its stock price that had previously dropped over 25% year-to-date. The company achieved an 18% increase in overall revenue, driven predominantly by a 27% rise in cloud computing sales, which constituted nearly one-third of total sales.

Key figures include a $678 billion backlog for its cloud platform, significantly exceeding quarterly cloud revenue. CEO Satya Nadella highlighted the growing demand for AI infrastructure, positing the company well against competitors like Amazon and Alphabet. Microsoft expects to be free-cash-flow positive by fiscal 2027, enabling it to fund AI investments without raising external capital.
