SpaceX Stock Performance Overview
Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX), known as SpaceX, went public in June 2023 with an initial public offering (IPO) price of $135 per share. Its stock opened at $150 on the first trading day and peaked at over $225 before dropping to around $144, slightly above its IPO price but below its peak.
In the second quarter of 2023, SpaceX’s Starlink service gained 1.7 million net new subscribers, contributing to a trailing twelve-month (TTM) revenue of $20.7 billion. Despite this growth, the company reported a net loss of $6.4 billion, raising concerns about its ability to attain profitability relative to competitors such as Meta Platforms and Taiwan Semiconductor, which enjoy significantly higher revenues and positive net incomes.
