Corning Incorporated (GLW) reported second-quarter 2026 core revenues of $4.74 billion, a 17% increase year-over-year, with core earnings rising 30% to 78 cents per share, surpassing Zacks Consensus Estimates. The company has seen eight consecutive quarters of year-over-year growth. For the third quarter, management forecasts core sales between $4.9 billion and $5 billion and core EPS of 85-89 cents.

The stock has experienced significant volatility, advancing 113.8% over the past year but falling 25.9% in the last three months. Currently, GLW trades at a premium valuation of about 46.6X forward earnings and 9.4X trailing book value. Operating cash flow improved dramatically to $1.72 billion, up from $708 million a year earlier, while core operating margin expanded to 20.9%.

Despite strong performance and cash flow improvements, risks remain, including customer concentration, cyclical demand in the consumer electronics and automotive sectors, and challenges in its solar segment, which reported a quarterly loss of $7 million. The current price target is set at $160, suggesting room for growth, but the stock’s high valuation adds execution risk.
