International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) has launched an on-premises beta deployment for its IBM Digital Asset Haven, enabling clients to connect with Swift’s blockchain-based shared ledger. This initiative allows financial institutions to manage digital asset operations more securely within their data centers, starting this month.

The new ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter facilitates the processing of tokenized deposit transactions utilizing standard messaging formats, allowing 24/7 digital asset movement before final settlement. This enhancement positions IBM to help banks adopt tokenized assets securely amidst increasing competition from companies like Microsoft and Alphabet.

Despite these advancements, IBM shares have decreased by 19.4% over the past year, while the industry has grown by 210.8%. The company’s forward price-to-sales ratio stands at 2.93, below the industry average of 5.35.
