Marvell Technologies Sees Massive Stock Surge
Marvell Technologies (NASDAQ: MRVL) has experienced a remarkable 251% increase in its stock value during the first half of 2023. The fabless chipmaker, which specializes in ASIC chips and optical components, gained traction largely due to the AI boom and bullish comments from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who touted Marvell as a potential “next trillion-dollar company.”
In Q4 2026, revenue rose 22% to $2.22 billion, with adjusted earnings per share jumping from $0.60 to $0.80. For Q1 2027, Marvell reported a 28% revenue increase to $2.42 billion, and earnings per share improved to $0.80. Following Huang’s endorsement at the Computex trade show in Taiwan, the stock surged 33%. Additionally, it was announced that Marvell would be added to the S&P 500 index in mid-June 2023.
Despite a recent pullback in July amidst a broader decline in semiconductor stocks, analysts remain optimistic about Marvell’s growth potential, expecting continued acceleration over the next two years. Currently, the stock trades at a price-to-sales ratio of 20, suggesting a potentially expensive valuation compared to historical standards.
