Amazon Earnings Report Highlights

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) reported a significant 20% increase in stock price following its Q2 earnings release, although it has settled at a 15% gain for the year. The company’s North American commerce sales rose by 16% year-over-year, while international sales grew by 15%. A key driver for future growth is Amazon Web Services (AWS), which saw a 37% revenue increase year over year and contributed 60% of the company’s operating profits in Q2.

Amazon anticipates total revenues to reach $828 billion by 2026, supported by planned capital expenditures of around $220 billion this year. CEO Andy Jassy indicated that AWS will face capacity challenges, with demand expected to continue growing into 2028. Amazon’s projected operating income for 2026 is estimated at $114 billion, suggesting a 22% potential increase in stock price, targeting around $316 per share by year-end.
