Nvidia Q1 Fiscal Earnings Release
Nvidia will announce its fiscal 2027 first-quarter operating results on May 20, after the market closes. The company forecasts first-quarter sales of $78 billion, signaling a 77% growth compared to the same quarter last year, and expects a gross margin of 74.9%.
Despite strong performance expectations, Nvidia’s stock has historically declined post-earnings; it has dropped an average of 3% the day following earnings releases. Notably, over the last seven quarters, the stock has fallen after five of these events, indicating potentially inflated investor expectations.
Nvidia’s GPU dominance in AI infrastructure continues to drive growth, with CEO Jensen Huang stating that its Blackwell and Vera Rubin architectures are projected to achieve $1 trillion in sales by the end of 2027. This sustained demand, coupled with GPU scarcity, allows Nvidia to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
