Intel Corporation (INTC) has entered into a multi-year partnership with McLaren Racing to enhance racing operations through advanced computing, AI, and engineering. Under this agreement, Intel becomes the official compute partner for McLaren in both Formula 1 and IndyCar series.
This collaboration aims to leverage real-time data analytics from various parameters, such as car telemetry and driver behavior, allowing McLaren to optimize race strategies. Intel’s technology will support trackside edge computing, simulations, and predictive modeling, enhancing McLaren’s competitive edge in a data-driven sport.
The partnership comes amid a growing global AI infrastructure market, projected to rise from approximately $101.2 billion in 2026 to nearly $202.5 billion by 2031, with a CAGR of 14.9%. Intel’s involvement highlights its strategy to capitalize on this market trend, while competing against firms like NVIDIA and AMD, who are also expanding their AI capabilities in the racing sector.
