Meta Platforms’ Muse AI app has rapidly become the top free iOS app in the U.S. App Store, surpassing OpenAI’s ChatGPT less than two weeks after its launch on September 8. As of now, Muse has recorded over 2.5 million downloads, with approximately 1.5 million from iOS and 1.1 million from Android devices, according to Sensor Tower.
Powered by Meta’s Muse Spark AI models, the app enables users to manage AI agents that perform various online tasks like filling out forms and organizing emails. Subscription options are available at $20 and $100 per month depending on usage. Following its launch, Meta’s stock surged by more than 11%, and Wells Fargo raised its price target for the company to $796.
Despite its initial success, Muse faces potential growth challenges due to privacy and security issues. Amazon has blocked the app from accessing its shopping site due to concerns about credentials, while Shopify is collaborating with Meta to support agentic checkout in its online stores.
