Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) reported a significant surge in revenue from its data center business, reaching $89.0 billion during the second quarter of fiscal 2027, which ended on July 26. This figure represents a 117% increase compared to the same period last year and accounts for 92.5% of Nvidia’s total revenue.
The company has projected total revenue for the fiscal third quarter to be approximately $108.0 billion. If data center revenue maintains its current share at 92.5%, it could approach $99.9 billion, nearly meeting the projected milestone of $100 billion. Nvidia’s fiscal year ends in late January 2024, allowing additional opportunities for this target to be met.
Growth in the data center segment is primarily driven by demand for artificial intelligence solutions, outpacing other business lines. The company’s new Vera Rubin platform is anticipated to contribute about 20% of data center revenue in the upcoming quarter, further bolstering projections.
